I will be spending a few days in Tours, could someone give me more information about the French castles on Loire? Can I get there from Tours?(give a different answer) .
You should take an organized bus tour because touring the castles by public transportation can be very expensive and slow. There are english language tours, very informal and relaxed. Tour prices do not include entrance fees, but if you're a part of a group you may get discounts. There are several touring agencies: Acco-Dispo, Quart de Tours or St-Eloi Excursions. The prices are from 18 to 31 euro for a half day trip to various chateaux, in a shared minibus, for up to eight people. You can make reservations at the Tourist Office in Tours, 78-82 rue Bernard Palissy, where you can also get other informations about the chateaux.
