The Cathedrale Notre Dame in Rouen, located on Place de la Cathedrale, is considered a masterpiece of Gothic architecture and it is the seat of the Archbishop of Rouen. Rouen's Cathedral contains the tomb of Richard the Lionheart where his heart rests. Richard's effigy is on top of the tomb, and his name is inscribed in Latin on the side. There are several daily guided visits to the crypt and ambulatory. Opened from 8 am to 6 pm Tuesday to Sunday, on Monday from 2 to 6 pm.
