catalina's question:
I have a thing for that Champagne area starting with the French Reims city...What should I expect to see there?(give a different answer) .
Well, well a quest for the bubbles...Good idea after all...Did you know the Benedictine monk who discovered "la metode champenoise" is said to have shrieked "I'm drinking stars!" ? Super! Champagne area, with its largest Reims city, hosts 68, 000 acres of vineyards, producing about 220 million bottles every year. After inspecting the earthly vineyards, can go for a stroll in the underground cellars, where the everpatient "remuers" sell the aging elixir. The largest producers, such as Taittinger, Perrier-Jouet, Moet et Chandon organize tours through the subterranean galleries, once used by Gallo-Romans as bomb shelters, hospitals and schools.
