astroboy's question:
What kind of architecture does Stanislas Square in Nancy display?(give a different answer) .
It's the rococo style, with complicated gilded iron gates, arcades and fanciful decorations. Place Stanislas is actually claimed to be the most beautiful urban monument in France...I rather doubt it, there's room for better. However, the square got it's name from the Polish king, who, together with his son in law Louis XV, ordered its construction in 1751. Not only the main square is elegant, but Nancy itself flourished as a residence of the duchy of Lorraine and was subjected to a beautification programme.
