Vieux Lille, the old part of the city of Lille

Posted 1 year ago by avatar lizette in response to avatar buck's question: What's the main part of Lille? I know the city earned the name of a cultural hub. (give a different answer) .

In my opinion it's Vieux Lille, an area with an old Flemish flavour, with narrow old-fashioned streets and 17th century houses. Just head north from Place du General de Gaulle, and your eyes and nose will tell you're in the right place. In this square, whitch represents the city centre, you'll also come across a superb book market (open 2-7pm)- my only delight, sincerely speaking. And the Old Stock Exchange, I forgot, consisting of 24 separate Renaissance buildings. Have a nice stroll!
