katia's question:
I am writing an article about the most beautiful cathedrals in Europe. can you tell me something about the one in Chartres?(give a different answer) .
When I visited Paris, last year, I drove 80 km to Chartres just to see the Cathedrale Notre Dame. The 130 m long building dominates the town of Chartres. It has two very different spires, one Gothic and the other Romanesque. And the astonishing blue stained-glass windows are considered one of the most important exponent of medieval stained glass in the world. Located in Place de la Cathedrale, the visiting hours are from 8.30 to 7 pm. You can hire also an English language audio guide tour for about 4 euro/45 min from the cathedral bookshop.
