Last time I went to Chartres it was to visit its magnificent cathedral and I stood for two days at Hotel de Boeuf Couronne located in Place de Chatelet, near the center of the town. The rooms are cozy and not very expensive. I took a single with a shower for which I paid 40 euro but there were cheaper rooms for less than 30 euro. Some of the front rooms have a beautiful view of the cathedral. The hotel includes a nice restaurant with good food, serving lunch and dinner. A menu is maximum 26 euro.
