Aiguille du Midi mountain in Chamonix

Posted 1 year ago by sakis in response to queenbee's question: What mountain peak can I reach in Chamonix for an incredible view? of the Mont Blanc, maybe.... (give a different answer) .

Aiguille du Midi is the most frequent destination for tourists, 8 km away from the summit of Mont Blanc. It's a rocky peak rising above immense snowfields and glaciers, so you'll have a shimmering view. I'm not much of a sporty person - I took the telepherique, it cost me 34 euros, and 24 for my 10-year-old son (a round trip). If you feel like hiking, there's also the opportunity to stop at halfway point (2317m, Plan de l'Aiguille) and reach the summit on foot.
